High Usage Notification

Each utility operates under a consumptive use permit issued by either the St Johns Water Management District (SJWMD) or Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD).

A consumptive use permit (CUP) is a type of permit which allows water to be withdrawn from surface and groundwater supplies for reasonable and beneficial uses such as public supply (drinking water), agricultural and landscape irrigation, and industry and power generation.

Each utility is monitored by the water management districts for its consumption and as part of our compliance plan letters are generated alerting you that your monthly consumption has reached or exceeded the threshold established by the Water Management Districts as typical use for an average sized lot for your style of home.

This notification serves a two fold purpose: first to alert our customers to identify their usage; and second to alert them to possible leaks which may result in higher customer costs. This letter is automatically generated and you need not respond; should you feel that after checking your water and irrigation systems that you may be experiencing a leak at the system meter, please contact us and we will gladly check.
